Tennis court with flood lights (Carin is a provincial tennis player and you can book coaching lessons with her). Rackets and balls are available.

Swimming pool: the large swimming pool is a cemented farm dam filled with fresh water from a fountain high up in the Franschhoek Mountain.

Cellar tours: Book a tour with winemaker Johan and taste his wine straight out of the vats. He is especially proud of his port.

Hiking trails: Through the vineyards, around the orchard and along the Franschhoek river. Or up the Wemmershoek mountain. The owner’s dogs are excellent guides and will gladly escort you!

Peach picking and packing: If you visit La Provence in November you are welcome to pick and pack peaches – and taste the wonderful fruit as well.

Wine harvesting: In late February and March the grapes are harvested and you are invited to join the picking with your own basket in hand.  Or to taste the fresh grape juice and must (federwisser) during the crushing and pressing process. See Merlot…Cabernet…Semillon…in the making!

Johan has a collection of veteran cars in a small museum on the farm. These include a 1927 Dodge, a 1948 Army truck, and a red and green 1948 and 1955 Citroens or black shining 1958 Mercedes Benz.
